Saint George the Martyr Wolverton

The Parish is situated at the northern edge of Milton Keynes. It covers the main town of Wolverton itself.  The Town is a made up of primarily Victorian houses from large detached houses to terraced rows.  New building in the area has seen the development of Wolverton park and indeed a new railway station that affords easy links to London and Birmingham which proves very attractive to an increasing number of commuter residents.

The Diocese of Oxford serves the mission of the Church in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. The Diocese comprises more than 600 parishes, with over 800 churches, serving a diverse population of more than 2 million people located in all types of settings.

The Diocesan Bishop is the Rt Revd Dr Steven Croft.  Due to the size and complexity of the Diocese, we also have three Area Bishops who exercise considerable strategic oversight for their Episcopal areas.  The Bishop of Buckingham is the Rt Rev’d Alan Wilson who has been the Area Bishop  with responsibility for Saint George the Martyr since 2004.
